Five-hundred twenty-five thousand, six-hundred minutes
Five-hundred twenty-five thousand moments so dear
525,600 minutes - how do you measure, measure a year?
In daylights,
in sunsets,
in midnights,
in cups of coffee.
In inches,
in miles,
in laughter,
in strife.
In 525,600 minutes - how do you measure a year in the life?
How about Love?
My baby is 1 year old today. My goodness, where did the time go? Oh yeah, see the lyrics above.* That's where they are....in the long days, sunsets (and sunrises), and cups of coffee to keep awake. In the inches measured, miles traveled and moved, first laughs, and midnight feedings.
I am a little sad, I'll admit, that my baby isn't a baby anymore. He is officially a toddler, and is well on his way to becoming a little boy. I see it every day as he grows and learns and figures things out and tries new things and fails and tries again and gets it. And I know this is just the beginning of all that, and I'm so thrilled that I'm getting to watch it all unfold.
But this first year has been so special, and I try so hard to remember the little moments that I know are fleeting. But I also try to realize this is just the beginning, and it only gets better from here!

I'm a little misty because I'm right there with ya. It amazes me everyday how much my baby has changed and how far we still have to go. I look at sitcoms in a totally different way because it amazes me that we have a little person whose life we are watching unfold before us.
Happy Birthday, Drew Bear!
Awww, I can't believe time is going by so fast. It was so exciting to read about your pregnancy and his debut. Happy birthday, Drew Bear! He really does look like a little man in the second picture.
Happy Birthday, Drew!
He's a darn cute little toy stealer!
Happy Birthday, Sweet Boy! Aunt Jillie loves you SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!! This post is precious.
Katie, Katie. Sons are special and they love their mamas. I read your words and remember having those same feelings. You brought me to tears as I remember my special little boy. We have so loved being close for Drew Bear's first year and know it will only get better. We love him so much!
Happy Birthday, Drew Bear.
Reading those lyrics made me remember...That Rent was the very first broadway show that I saw! ;-)
But seriously, every year is different in a childs development, so as this one closes a new one starts with new joys and challenges...and memories!
