Got Milk?

Most of the time, people fall into categories. Coffee drinker vs. tea drinker. Sweet cereal eaters vs. plain. Mustard vs. Mayonaise. City-slicker vs. Country-bumpkin (I think I am both). Crest vs. Colgate. Action Movie vs. Romance. Coke vs. Pepsi. Beer vs. Wine. Email vs. snail-mail. It classifies us and occasionally gives us something interesting to talk about. I have a new one....Those that drink the 'used' milk out of their cereal bowls when they are done with the cereal, and those that don't. I fall into the latter category. I am a life-long cereal eater. I have it almost every day. As does my husband (we are simple people, nothing fancy here!). But I WILL NOT drink the milk out of the bowl when I'm done. My Papa used to do it in front of us after he polished off his bowl, and it would make me gag. I just do not like the milk sweetened by the cereal, or the little left-over cereal dregs floating around. Yuck. Give me a plain ol' glass of milk with my cereal, and I will drink the entire thing. But not the leftovers. Call me wastefull, I just can't do it. That would be the deal breaker for me on Fear Factor.

I also do not like flavored, sweet milk. Like chocolate or strawberry or vanilla. I never did as a kid, and I certainly don't now. I like it plain and cold. No sweet milk for me, yuck. I also don't really care for sugar in my coffee, either. Must be something about
sweet drinks that I'm not fond of. Hot chocolate, pass. I'd rather have hot coffee. I'm weird, I know.

Which category do you fall into? Are you a dregs drinker?

I drink the left over milk. When I was little and ate Cheerios with sugar on top (because the Lucky Charms had run out) I especially loved the last bit that had all the sugar in it. I like chocolate milk, but think stawberry and vanilla is too much.

As much as I like sweet drinks it is odd that I'd prefer a straight espresso shot over a cup of coffee with cream and sugar. We all knew I was odd already though. No need to linger on further proof of the obvious.

I also drink the leftovers. I was raised being part of the 'clean plate club' and I guess this is a spillover of that. I don't eat sugary cereals, though, so the milk still tastes normal. I like my milk straight up, but I sometimes crave chocolate milk. I don't think I have ever tried strawberry or vanilla milk.

Katie, I had no idea the left-over-milk-drinking from our childhood made you gag. I'll remember that in the future. I love the stuff. My favorite is after a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Yum! I don't like chocolate milk (got a sour one once), but I love strawberry milk! No sugar in coffee, though; or cream, for that matter. Give me the strong black stuff any day. That's what the Navy will do to ya.

I think the catagory thing works... Most people do fit into catagories. I am definatly a coffee drinker. That is about all I can say...
